The fight for survival for young Henry was nothing short of miraculous, a testament to his tiny, resilient spirit against overwhelming odds. Doctors discovered a fractured spine, six broken ribs, a broken jaw, a broken collarbone, a liver laceration, and numerous other internal and external traumas that would challenge even the most seasoned medical professionals, threatening his very existence. His young body, so recently full of playful energy and childhood exuberance, was now a fragile vessel clinging to life, surrounded by machines and medical teams. His grandmother, too, suffered several broken bones but, thankfully, was eventually released from the hospital, beginning her own arduous journey of physical and emotional recovery, haunted by the memory of that day. Henry spent a grueling week in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, enduring unimaginable pain and countless procedures before he was finally stable enough to come home, a powerful symbol of endurance draped in a full body brace that he would wear for a heartbreaking ten weeks, a constant reminder of the day their lives changed forever.
